EPR Principle & Recycling of WEEE Ongoing...

The 12th International Conference on EPR Principle & Recycling of WEEE & Used Battery Management (2019) was hold in 8th-10th May. The White paper on WEEE Recycling Industry 2018 China was released in the meeting.  There are around 200 participants in the meeting.  The speakers from policy makers such as MEP- Ministry of Environment Protection, MIIT- Ministry of Information Industry and a study project of NDRC introduced the China WEEE regulation, China EPR regulations implementation and revisions. In 2011, China published the Management Rules on Waste of EE Equipment (China WEEE Regulations) and collected disposal fees for products entering China market, there are currently 14 products in the catalog. It will be extended.

In the meeting, The Solid Waste and Chemical Technical Center of MEP introduced the revision of China WEEE Regulations. The revision will focus on determining the implementation of the extend producer responsibility- EPR system; punishment mechanism for collecting funds and Improve the responsibility sharing mechanism for recycling and recycling of used electrical appliances etc.

Mrs. Wang Xu, head of EuropElectro participated the meeting and got invited to attend the meeting VIP discussion panel a VIP guest. As an only industry representative in the panel, in the discussions Mrs. Wang stressed our manufacturers position of open, fair, transparency and forbidding free riders in regulatory implementation.  We keep close eyes on the China WEEE, China EPR regulations.
