General introduction:
The WEEE Working Group consists of European electrical and electronics manufacturers, and encourages enforcement of equal treatment between local and non-local players and providing a better understanding of how to interpret local laws and regulations.
Task list since August 2011:
At the kick-off meeting, all participants agreed that the following points should be focused on at present. The 4 most important topics which were selected based on the common interests of members as the WG’s next steps to carry out are:
- Work out an EuropElectro’s position paper on WEEE legislation as a guideline for members internal use
- Exchange information periodically and organize WG meetings, if necessary, for detailed discussion
- Follow-up on the development of WEEE legislation, such as fund establishment, fee levying standards and product catalogues, etc.
- Cooperate with other foreign associations on common interest topics concerning WEEE legislation
